Hear And Be Healed

When in need of healing there are two things that are very important.  And they are the words you take in and the words you speak out.  In Proverbs 4:20-23 God gives specific instructions to attend to his words, incline your ear unto his sayings, let them not depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of your heart.  Notice, where it says to keep the word, in your heart.  In Act 14:7-10 it speaks of a man that was impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb.  It says this man heard Paul speak and Paul perceived that the man had faith to be healed and called out, "Stand upright on thy feet."  And the man that was a cripple leaped and walked just by hearing the word.  How could that have happened, because in Mark chapter 4 Jesus told a parable of a man that went out to sow seed.  The seed was the word and the ground was the heart(spirit) of man.  Notice, when the seed fell on good ground the seed yielded fruit.  So, while the man was listening seed was being sown in the ground of his spirit.  And the seeds that was sown yielded fruit.

That's why Jesus said, "Take heed what ye hear."  Because when you hear seed is being sown.  And when seed is sown in good ground it will yield fruit.  In Proverbs 4:23 it warns you to guard your heart(spirit) with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.  Because, the spirit of a man is like soil.  What is sown in it you will have the fruit of it.  So, if you sow the seeds of healing you will have the fruit of healing.  Notice, in Proverbs 15:30 it says that a good report maketh the bones fat(healthy).  What is a good report, it's a report in line with God's word.  Notice, in Isaiah 53:1 it says, "Who hath believed our report?"  You have to believe God's report.  In Numbers 13 Moses sent out 12 spies to spy out the land that God had promised to them and after 40 days they came back to report about the land.  Notice, what 10 of the spies said, they said the cities are walled, the people are great, we are like grasshoppers and the whole congregation lifted up their voice and cried and wept that night.  They accepted in them the report of the 10 spies.  But, notice what the other 2 said Caleb and Joshua, "Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it."  "If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not."  But, the people didn't accept their report they said, "Would God that we have died in the land of Egypt!  or would God that we had died in this wilderness!"  They also said, "And wherefore hath the Lord brought us into this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?"  And notice God's response, "As ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:  Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me.  Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun."  Notice, had they received Caleb's and Joshua's report they would have possessed the land.  Notice, their words played a big part in what they all received.

And in receiving healing your words play a big part in what you receive.  Notice, in Proverbs 4:22 it says God's word is health to all your flesh.  That word health is translated medicine, remedy, cure, and healing.  And when your words are in line with God's word they will be health to all of your flesh.  Proverbs 12:18 says,"But the tongue(words) of the wise is health."  Proverbs 15:4 says, "A wholesome(healing) tongue is a tree of life."  Proverbs 16:24 says, "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."  So, what words are you speaking.  Notice, in Joshua 1:8 it says do not let the word of God depart out of your mouth, it should stay in your mouth.  Make his words your words.  Like, Hebrews 10:23 says, "Let us hold fast the profession/confession of our faith without wavering;(for he is faithful that promised).  That word confession means to say the same thing.  Keep hearing and speaking God's report and you will bring forth fruit with patience (Luke 8:15).  What is God's report- Surely he hath borne our griefs(disease, sickness) and carried our sorrows(pain, affliction).  The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4,5).  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes we were(past tense) healed (1Peter 2:24).  He sent his word and healed them (Psalm 107:20).  Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:1-3).

God's Prescription For Life And Health

When you go to the doctor and they give you a prescription, you go to the CVS  or wherever, stand in line, wait for it, give them your money, and take it just as it says on the label.  And why do you do all that because of what a man said.  Well, God is a physician one of his covenant names is Jehovah Rapha-The Lord our healer. And He has given you a prescription in Proverbs 4:20-23.  It says, My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Notice he said God's word is life and health to all their flesh.  Let's look at the words life and health- life  is translated as 1. to revive 2. to nourish up 3. restore to life.  And you see that in the life of Abraham and Sarah.  His body was dead and her womb was dead (Romans 4:19).  But, God promised him that he and his wife would have a son.  So, what did God do He changed their names to match his promise; Abraham means-father of a multitude and Sarah means-princess of nations. Why did God do that, because that's the prescription for life.  They would hear that word when their names were called (ears).  They would see that word when they wrote their names (eyes).  They would keep it in their mouth when they told someone their names (mouth).  And by that they would keep that word in the midst of their heart.

And God says if you want to prosper the word has to stay in your mouth (Joshua 1:8).  The word will impart life to your spirit and your spirit will impart that life to your flesh.  Your flesh has no life of itself your spirit imparts life to it.  Proverbs 14:30 says, a sound heart(spirit) is the life of the flesh.  What you allow into your spirit is important because your spirit has the ability to impart life or death to your flesh.  That's why Proverbs 18:14 says, the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity.  You see that was God's way of having them follow Proverbs 4:20-23.  And by that his body came alive and her womb came alive because they did have a son.  The word works.  But, the word is not only life, but health.

And the word health is translated as medicine, remedy, healing, and cure.  Did you get that? The word is healing to your flesh.  How is that somebody might ask, well let me explain- 1. The word is seed and every seed has it's fruit.  2.  The heart of man or spirit of man is ground.  3.  And by constantly taking in the word in you water the seed.  4.  And the water of the word makes the ground bring forth (Mark 4:14,15; 1Cor. 3:6,7; Isa. 55:10,11).

Nobody has a problem understanding if I plant rose seed in the ground and water them at some point I will see roses.  And that's the same principle God has outlined in Proverbs 4:20-23.  The word is seed and the fruit of that seed is healing.  And the seed of the word planted and watered will produce.  I've heard testimonies of people that has followed that and been healed and I myself have followed that and been healed.  And in Acts 14:7-10 it tells you of a man that was lame, but he heard Paul preach and when the word got in him Paul perceived he had faith to be healed and he said, "Stand up on thy feet" and he stood up.  The word always works.

The Word Will Turn Your Body

God's word causes/makes all contrary things come in line with it.  You see that in Genesis 1 when there was darkness God said, "Light be" and there was light.  Everything God released his word to do everything that was contrary with it came in line with it.  And when God authorizes you to speak something and you speak it beleiving  then everything will line up with it.  God told Abram that he would make him a father of many nations, but notice his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead (Romans 4:19).  So, what did God do he changed their names to Abraham(father of a multitude) and Sarah(Princess of nations).  Notice, their names were changed to match what God said he would do.  And their bodies lined up with it.  Abraham was not weak in faith, but was strong in faith (Romans 4:19,20).

Look at Jesus, he only spoke the word of God and when he released it believing all contrary conditions lined up with it.  When a man couldn't walk Jesus would tell him, "Rise, take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house" and they did.  A man with a withered hand and Jesus told him, "Stretch forth thine hand" and he did.  When a woman was barren God would send her a word that she would have a child and they did.  God said that a virgin shall conceive and bring forth a son and she did.  All conditions give way to the word of God.  And you have been authorized to speak God's word because the scripture says, "Let us hold fast the profession(confession) of our faith."

James 3 is an excellent chapter that shows you the effect your words have on your body.  Verses 3 and 4 says, "Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body."  "Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the govenor listeth."  What are these verses saying, in verse 4 the tongue of the horse is used to control the body, he's showing you the comparison with your tongue.  In verse 5 he's saying you(spirit you) are the governor, your body is the ship because it's how you get around in this physical world.  And the rudder is the tongue.  So, if you want to turn your ship change your words.  And did you notice that no matter how fierce the winds are the ship goes where you guide it.

Isn't that what Abraham and Sarah did when God changed their names.  Notice, God gives you something to say to change your body.  Why, because Romans 1:16 says that the word of God is the power of God.  So, if you hold fast to your confession of faith the power of God will turn your body.  In Proverbs 4: 20-22 it instructs you to keep the word in your eyes, ears, and mouth for it is health to your flesh.  That word health is translated as medicine, healing, remedy, and cure.  The words you speak are vital to the condition of your body.  Psalm 103:5 says, "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things(words); so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.  Notice, it didn't say God satisfieth you, no he said your mouth.  He uses the mouth to turn the body.  So, hold fast to your confession of faith.
