Your Salvation Is In Your Mouth

Your mouth is a powerful tool in you receiving your salvation.  Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  That word confession means to acknowledge or say the same thing as.  So, let's break this scripture down, notice it says, with the mouth(your mouth) confession(saying the same thing as God) is made unto salvation(healing, deliverance, preservation, made whole).  That word salvation means so much more than only being born again.  That scripture is saying when you speak God's word out of a believing heart your words will bring your salvation.  It's not you just speaking anything, but God's word.  Understand, God has something for you to say that will bring you deliverance.  Proverbs 12:6 says, "The mouth of the upright will deliver them."  Understand, God has something for you to say in that sickness.  Proverbs 12:18 says, "But the tongue of the wise is health."  That word health is translated remedy, medicine, cure.  God's word will keep you that's why Proverbs 14:3 says, "The lips of the wise will preserve them."  Notice when it says lips, mouth, or tongue it is referring to your words.

The Bible is full of instances of people who knew how to speak their deliverance like David going up against Goliath when he said, "This day will the Lord deliver you into my hands."  And soon after he spoke those words Goliath's head was in his hands.  And the 3 Hebrew boys that was facing being thrown into the fiery furnace and they spoke that the Lord would deliver them from the hands of the king.  And after they were thrown into the furnace they came out without one hair burned and without even the smell of smoke.  How about the woman with the issue of blood, she spoke, "If only I may touch his clothes, I shall be made whole."  Their words were key to them receiving their salvation and your words are key to you receiving your salvation.  So, when you are going through a tough time find out what God has said about your situation and put your faith in that and let your words come into agreement with his word.  God has already promised that his word would not return to him without accomplishing what he pleases.  His words return to him from your lips.  Follow the instructions God gave Joshua, "This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night."  And the same thing He promised Joshua is for you, "And you shall make your way prosperous."

Not I But Christ

A lot of times when God tells us to do something we tend to look at our own ability.  Like Gideon when God called him and said, "You shall save Isreal from the hands of the Midianites", the first thing he did was look at his own ability or limitations.  He said, "O my Lord how can I save Isreal?  Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house."  And Moses when God said, He was going to send him to bring the children of Isreal out of Egypt, the first thing Moses said was, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Isreal out of Egypt."  The issue is never who am I, the issue is who am I with God because you and God are the majority not the minority.  Because with God all things are possible.

That's why I like David, he knew it wasn't about him.  While the army of Isreal was afraid David was like, I don't care how big this guy is my God is bigger and me with God is an army.  See, his focus was not on himself.  He said, "This day will the Lord deliver you into my hands."  That's the difference between thinking it's about you and knowing it's about God.  When you think it's about you then you look at your limitations.  When you know it's about God you know there is no limit.

Your mindset is important if you're going to be used by God.  And sometimes our view of ourselves is different than God's view of us.  But, God knows you better than you know yourself.  He knows the potential in you and how to bring it out of you.  So, when God tells you to do something he's doing it based on his view of you and not your view of you.  That's where the children of Isreal messed up, when God told them to go in and posses the land they said there's giants in the land and we are but grasshoppers in our own sight and so we were in their sight.  Well, a grasshopper with God is a giant.

They should have been more like Peter, he and the rest of the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water and Peter said, "Lord, if that be you bid me come to thee on the water."  Peter knew all I need is a word from God to act on.  But, notice there were 12 in the boat, but only one had the mind to step out.  Everyone is not always ready to go where you go.  Sometimes you might have to leave some folks behind.  Peter had been with Jesus and saw the power of his words and caught the revelation that when he speaks to you he also empowers you.  So, when God speaks to you he's not talking about your ability but his ability.

When God said that Sarah would bring forth a son in her old age she laughed and God asked, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord."  Notice the scripture says, "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me."  God also says in the scriptures, "Be strong in the power of his might."  Notice your ability is nowhere in those scriptures because it's not about you, but Christ.

God's Word In Your Mouth Is Your Salvation

God's word in your mouth is your salvation.  His word in your mouth and spoken out properly will produce your salvation.  The word says the word of God is powerful(Hebrews 4:12), but for it to be powerful on your behalf it has to come out of your mouth.  Romans 1:16 says, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  Notice, it's the power of God unto salvation.  That word salvation is translated heal, preserve, save, make well, deliver, rescue.  So, the word of God is the power of God unto all of those things, but to him that believeth.  Well, according to 2Corinthians 4:13 when you believe you speak.  That agrees with Romans 10:10 with your heart you believe and with the mouth you speak.  And that combination brings salvation into your life.

That's why Paul says in Romans 10:6-8, you don't have to call Jesus back, but the word is nigh you even in your mouth and in your heart.  Notice, it has to be in both places.  A lot of people have no problem believing the word has to be in your heart, but they have a problem believing that it has to be in your mouth.  But, the Bible has a lot to say about the word being in your mouth and what it will do.  Like Proverbs 12:6, the mouth of the upright will deliver them.  And the 18th verse of that same chapter says, but the tongue of the wise is health(healing).  Proverbs has a lot to say about the words of your mouth like Proverbs 14:3, the lips of the wise shall preserve them.  Now we know when the Bible speaks of the mouth, lips, or tongue it is referring to your words.  And what better words are there to use than God's words.  Because it is He that creates the fruit of your lips (Isaiah 57:19).

Healing Belongs To You

There has been some misunderstandings about God and healing that needs to be cleared up.  Some people think that God puts sickness on people to teach them something, that is not true.  The scripture says that Jesus came to undo the works of the devil (1John 3:8).  What is one work of the devil, let's look at Acts 10:38, How God anointed Jesus of Nazereth with the Holy Ghost and power:  who went about doing good, and healing all that was oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.  So, sickness is not of God it is from the devil, and God sees healing a good.  God anointed Jesus for the purpose of healing.  Some people think healing is not important to God, but according to the scripture healing is very important to God.  And since he doesn't change it is still important to him (Malachi 3:6).
Now, let's look at another point, God has already provided healing for you.  He said in Matthew 15, that healing is the children's bread.  What is bread, another word for bread is provision.  It is something already provided.  But, here's the thing you can not let your body dictate to you what God has done.  Because your flesh can't know the things of God because they are spiritually discerned (1Corinthians 2:14).  That's why this is a faith walk, because you have to believe independent of your senses.  Let's see an example in Luke 17, ten lepers came to Jesus and asked him to have mercy on them and Jesus replied, "Go show yourselves unto the priest."  Now in that time you only showed yourself to priests after you've been cleansed.  And the scripture says that as they went they were cleansed.  Now, when did Jesus provide the healing, when he said, "Go show yourselves unto the priests", because that was all he did.  But, notice even though he provided something they didnt' look any different and they didn't feel any different.  They did not let there bodies determine whether something was done or not and jesus called that faith.
Let's clear up something else God does not heal some and not other.  God makes the provision to everyone and it's up to you to receive it.  Let's look all the way back to the old testament up to the new to see this.  Notice in Psalm 105:37 it is referring to the day after the Passover, He brought them forth also with silver and gold:  and there was not one feeble one among their tribes.  God healed everyone, not some and not others.  Let's see another example in Numbers 21:8, it refers to when serpents were bitting the children of Isreal and they were dying from the bites.  God told Moses, "Make thee a fiery serpent, and put it upon a pole:  and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live".  And it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man when he beheld the serpent of brass he lived.  Notice God made the provision for everyone.  Now let's come up to the new testament and again Acts 10:38, how Jesus healed all who were oppressed of the devil.  Jesus never turned anyone away that came to him for healing.  Not one time did he say no it's not God's will, that let's me know that it was always God's will for people to be healed and it's still his will.  I wanted to get those things cleared up because there may have been some wrong thinking in those areas and John in 3John 2 makes this statement, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."  So, your thinking can effect you receiving your healing.  So, I just wanted to clear up some thinking that may not have been in line with the scriptures so that someone would be in a better position to receive their healing.

God's Word Can Heal You

I just want to encourage someone that might be going through a sickness or disease, there is hope in the word of God.  Proverbs 4:20-22 says God's word is medicine and tells you how to take it.  You need to understand the word of God and your sickness cannot stay in the same place.  For God has spoken in Isaiah 55:11 that his word would accomplish that which he pleases and that it would prosper in the thing whereunto he sent it.  The word and that sickness cannot prosper inside your body, and God has already said that it would be his word.  The word is anointed, so it is equipped to remove burdens and destroy yokes (Isaiah 10:27). God's word is a healing agent.  In Psalm 107:20 it says, God sent his word and healed them.  Look at the ministry of Jesus, a lot of the accounts of his healings was simply by the spoken word.  In fact, in Matthew 8 a centurion tapped in to that when he said, "Speak the word only and my servant shall be healed."  Jesus spoke the word and his servant was healed.  What did Jesus speak, he only spoke the words of his father, the word of God (John 12:49,50).  Notice John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God."  So you can't separate God from his word.  So his word does heal just as sure as he heals.  For example remember in Luke chapter 1 a woman named Elisabeth was barren and the word of the Lord came that she would have a son, she was unable to have a child and yet the word of the Lord came that she would have a son, and her condition could not stay the same it had to change.  Notice when the word came on the scene things changed.  So, be encouraged the word can change your condition.  Be patient, give it some time for God is faithful and his word his powerful (Hebrews 4:12).

The Word In Your Mouth And Heart

The word belongs in two places in your mouth and in your heart.  Because whatever gets into your heart and mouth will make it's way into your life.  Jesus said it this way, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."  Because your heart and mouth are doorways for things to come into your life and also out of your life.  Because Jesus also said, "For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith(in your heart) as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible unto you."  That mountain can represent a problem in your life.  Notice in both of those scriptures your heart and mouth are involved.  Notice what Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."  What door is he knocking at, the door of your heart(spirit).  Jesus (the word) wants to come into your heart, so there is a door of your heart.  But, also notice what David said in Psalm 141:3, "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."  So there is also a door of your mouth.  Notice a door serves two purpose as an entrance and an exit.  So things are coming into and out of your life when you know how to work your mouth and heart together.  I believe David tapped into that when he said, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."  But, notice the heart and mouth working together.

The door of your heart is a doorway into your spirit and once something is in your spirit and you open the door of your mouth that thing is released into your life.  Jesus said that this way, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things:  and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things."  Take salvation for instance, with your heart you believe and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  You work your heart and mouth together  and salvation shows up in your life.  It's with the heart you believe and with the mouth you speak.  So, it's not just speaking and it's not just believing, but both working together.  When the word enters you it first works on you (renewing the mind and bringing faith to your heart) and after it works on you now it's ready to be released into your life and work on your situations.  So, any word of God that you can get in your heart and speak out of your mouth will make it's way into your life.  Let's take Mary for instance an angel brought Mary a word "And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS."  And Mary believed that word and not just believed, but she also spoke, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word."  And Jesus showed up and we can live according to the words she believed and spoke.  When that outside word became an inside word and she spoke it Jesus came in the earth.  How about the woman with the issue of blood she heard about Jesus and according to what she heard she said, "If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole."  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.  And Jesus said, "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole."  So by her heart and mouth working together healing came into her life.  So, if you have a situation in your life put the word in your mouth and heart and keep it there and watch the word work (Hebrews 6:12 Isaiah 55:11).
